Ontario physicians and small practices depended on billing software that had aged past its architecture, in a domain where regulation leaves no room for approximation.
Any replacement had to satisfy OHIP billing rules and MCEDT claims submission exactly, while staying usable by practices with no IT staff of their own.
Over a multi-year engagement as their agency of record, we led the full redesign and redevelopment: requirements, UX, backend architecture, testing and deployment, including an MCEDT interface for claims submission and a custom OHIP billing engine that simplified complex reimbursement workflows. We also built a companion iOS app that used OCR to scan patient labels for faster, more accurate data capture.
